Advertising Disclosure
This page explains how Better Habits is supported financially, and the rules we follow so that readers can always tell the difference between editorial content and advertising.
How the site is supported
Better Habits is supported by advertising. The site may display advertisements, and it may publish sponsored content that a third party has paid for. Both are permitted under the rules below, and both are kept clearly separate from the articles written by our editorial team. We also promote the site through advertising on third-party platforms, which is why third-party advertising pixels may be present on our pages; see our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy for details.
Editorial independence
Our articles are written and edited by the Better Habits editorial team, published by ZN Digital Ventures LLC, and are not influenced by advertisers. Advertisers do not review, approve, or shape editorial content, and coverage is never exchanged for payment, products, or other consideration. Any product or service that appears in an article is there for editorial reasons, and mentions are never paid placements.
Labeling
Advertising. Any advertisement displayed on the site is visually distinct from editorial content and clearly marked as an advertisement, for example with the word "Advertisement" or "Ad."
Sponsored content. If we publish content that a third party has paid for, it is labeled "Sponsored" at the top of the page, the sponsor is named, and the content is kept separate from our regular articles. Sponsored content does not appear in our article index as if it were editorial, and it is subject to the same standards on health claims that apply to everything else we publish.
Standards for advertisers and sponsors
We decline advertising or sponsorship that makes health claims we consider unsupported or misleading; that presents supplements, medications, or medical devices in a way that implies our endorsement; that relies on fear, urgency, or body shaming; or that is inconsistent with our Editorial Policy. We reserve the right to decline or remove any advertisement at our discretion.
Advertisers are responsible for their claims
Advertisers and sponsors are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of their own content. The presence of an advertisement on the site does not mean we have verified its claims or that we recommend the product or service advertised.
